I can’t believe I have a dress to wear for Valentine’s day! I can’t believe I’m actually going out for dinner on Valentine’s day! Better late than never 😉
Non ci posso credere…ho un vestito per San Valentino! E andro’ anche a cena per festeggiare! Meglio tardi che mai 😉

But I can’t lie to you…this dress was never planned to be a Valentine’s day dress…I just fell in love with this fabric when I saw it at Abilmente a year and a half ago…but I refrained from buying it. It was a rare moment of rationality…aka I have way too much fabric!
A dir la verità il vestito non era nato per San Valentino…mi ero solo innamorata della stoffa quando l´ho vista ad Abilmente un anno e mezzo fa…ma non l’avevo comprata. In un raro momento di razionalità mi sono detta…ho già troppa stoffa!

Albeit…temptation stroke back…her name is Anna! She found the fabric in her town, asked me if I still wanted it…and I miserably gave in! And then she was so sweet to gift it to me! So it’s actually thanks to her if this dress even exists!
Ma la tentazione è tornata a battere alla mia porta…e ha un nome…Anna! Ha trovato la stessa stoffa in un negozio vicino casa e mi ha chiesto se la volessi ancora…e non ho saputo resistere! E poi è stata carinissima e me l’ha regalata! Quindi è grazie a lei se questo vestito esiste!

I used Jiffy Simplicity 1609, cut the front on the fold, added some width to make it less fitted, drafted a facing and lining. For some weird reason I had loads of troubled sewing a straight hem. It’s actually still not ok on the lining but I gave up!
Ho usato il cartamodello Jiffy Simplicity 1609, ho tagliato il davanti piegando in due la stoffa, ho aggiunto qualche centimetro perché fosse meno attillato e ho disegnato la paramontura e la fodera. Per qualche strano motivo ho avuto un sacco di problemi a cucire l’orlo dritto. Infatti la fodera non lo è ancora, ma alla fine mi sono arresa!
