Happy Easter!
Finally sitting down to share one of my latest makes (I was so eager I forgot to remove the basting stiches at the hem! sorry)…a jacket that has been on my wish list for over a year. Vogue V1526 is unique pattern by late fashion designer Paco Peralta. Though we only met once we had been in touch over several years and I absolutely loved his designs. I made several of the patterns he was selling on Etsy. This is the first time I made one of his designs for Vogue. I believe this was his first one. The jacket reminds me of his unique jacket

Finalmente mi sono seduta per condividere uno degli ultimi capi che ho cucito (ero talmente presa che ho dimenticato di rimuovere l’imbastitura dell’orlo! scusate)… da oltre un anno volevo cucire questa giacca. E’ Vogue V1526, un cartamodello dello stilista Paco Peralta che ci ha lasciato prematuramente poco più di un anno fa. Anche se ci siamo incontrati di persona solo una volta eravamo in contatto da anni e adoro i suoi modelli. Ho già cucito molti dei modelli che vendeva su Etsy. Questa però è la prima volta che ne cucio uno di quelli realizzati per Vogue. Credo questo sia stato il primo. Mi ricorda tanto la sua unique jacket

Above you can see what it looks like with an unbottoned collar. The fabric is a mid-weight cotton from LaFab Tessuti. The buttons were a beautiful gift from my first sewing instructor. They are vintage and made of real amber…they got a bit damaged but I decided to use them anyway.

Sopra vedete il collo aperto. Ho usato un cotone di medio peso preso su LaFab Tessuti. I bottoni sono un bellissimo regalo del mio primo insegnante di cucito. Sono vintage in ambra vera…si sono un po’ danneggiati ma ho deciso di usarli ugualmente.

I made a size 8 without any adjustments. I really love the design. The buttonhole design is so exquisite and unique…they are part of the seam. So you don’t have to fiddle with your machine and can use any button size you like.

Ho cucito la taglia 8 senza modifiche. Il modello mi piace moltissimo. Il disegno delle asole è davvero unico…sono costruite nella cucitura. Questo evita di doverle creare a macchina e puoi usare bottoni di qualsiasi misura.

The lining makes me happy every time I look at it. I am especially proud because I used up all fabric scraps…each of them reminds me of a project…like my white coat, the first failed wedding dress, and the final version. It’s also worth noting the bias accent is part of the pattern design…a great technique and another designer feature.

La fodera mi rende felice ogni volta che la guardo. Sono contentissima perché sono riuscita ad usare pezzi di fodera che avevo da anni…ognuno mi ricorda un capo…il cappotto bianco, il mio primo tentativo fallito di vestito da sposa e quello finale. Da notare che l’inserto in sbieco fa parte del cartamodello…una tecnica favolosa e un altro dettaglio stilistico.
