I am warning you… this is the most timely and season-appropriate post I have ever written. 1 December 2019…it was a wet winter day…one of many, lately, I have to say. Luckily we had a break on Saturday and I managed to put up Christmas lights. Ready?

Vi avverto…questo è il post più veloce e il più adatto alla stagione che abbia mai scritto. 1 dicembre 2019…era una giornata piovosa e invernale…una delle tante, devo ammetere, di questi tempi. Per fortuna sabato abbiamo avuto un po’ di tregua e sono riuscita a mettere le luci di Natale. Pronti?

As I already made these Sewaholic Thurlow shorts before they came together quickly. I made a size 4 and only had to take in the back seam. The pattern construction is pretty clever as it allows you to try the pants on and adjust the back right at the end. It has a seam at the center back just for that.

Visto che avevo già cucito questi pantaloncini Thurlow Sewaholic finirli è stato abbastanza rapido. Ho cucito la taglia 4 e ho solo ripreso la cucitura posteriore. La costruzione di questo cartamodello è molto intelligente perché puoi provare i pantaloni e adattare la cucitura posteriore alla fine. Per questo motivo c’è una cucitura sul centro dietro.

This time I skipped the back welt pockets and added belt loops 😉 For this project I actually had to buy some fabric…I used a nice cotton gabardine from Merceria Pinotti in Milan I was very happy I finally had a day off during the week and I went to see the store in person (they are closed on weekends). Honestly, it’s not a pretty store…more like a warehouse type. Staff are very friendly and they have specialty tailoring products. Added bonus prices are very reasonable. I used the occasion to stock up on interfacing and get their interfacing sample card so I can easily order online. BTW, Merceria Pinotti ships abroad and their website is available in English. Just to say I am not sponsored by them. They don’t even know I am a sewing celebrity (as if!)

Just want to say…summer will be back and to mark the occasion of this post today I am wearing my winter Thurlow Sewaholic shorts! In the meantime…let’s get ready for Christmas!

Stavolta ho omesso le tasche profilate e aggiunto i passanti 😉 Non ci crederete ma ho dovuto comprare della stoffa per questi pantaloni. Ho usato un bel gabardine di cotone della Merceria Pinotti a Milano Finalmente avevo una giornata di ferie in settimana e sono riuscita ad andare al negozio di persona (sono chiusi nel fine settimana). Onestamente parlando non è un bel negozio…ha l’aspetto di un magazzino. Il personale è molto gentile e hanno prodotti professionali per la sartoria. E, cosa che non guasta, i prezzi sono ragionevoli. Ho colto l’occasione per comprare delle telette adesive e anche il loro campionario telette così posso facilmente ordinarle online. Ci tengo a precisare che non sono sponsorizzata da loro. Non sanno neanche che sono una famosa blogger di cucito (certo certo!)

Per concludere…l’estate tornerà e per festeggiare l’occasione di questo post di oggi, indosso la versione invernale dei pantaloncini Thurlow Sewaholic! E nel frattempo…prepariamoci al Natale!
