Style Arc Dimity Top hack – Funnel Neckline

Hello! How are you? For the first time since I started blogging 8 years ago (can you believe it?) I haven’t posted in 3 months. And what’s worse I haven’t been sewing! Work got very badly in the way…my days, evenings and weekends have been just about work, no time to do anything else.
This is why this top I wore for Easter had to wait until now!

Ciao! Come va?

Once again I’ve taken Style Arc Dimity Top and hacked it again!
This time I created a small funnel neckline after removing the pleat and darts. I think I should have made it slightly taller…but I’ll live with it ;o)

I originally thought I would add proper cuffs…but I didn’t feel like making buttonholes…so I simply made a fuller sleeve (drawing a straight line from the armscye) and adding a small cuff.

I used a thin wool I got in Milan a couple of years ago

Now that work has calmed down I am slowly starting to sew again…am working on a jacket…possibly not the best project for the summer…I am taking it slowly. So it will be a few weeks still before I am done. In the meantime I hope you will follow me on Instagram

Let me know in the comments what you’ve been up to! I’ve been missing you

  1. This has turned out to be a very pretty top. The colour is great on you.
I know how you feel about too much going on and no time to sew. Today, I have about an hour or so of work and then maybe, just maybe, I’ll get into the sewing room and onto the machine!

  2. That’s one of my favourite colours and the sleeves are very elegant!
Like you, I found blogging very hard to fit in and the next thing you know the 3 months turn to 18 months! But I have a little more time now and lots of things I need to make. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I didn’t realise how much of a boost I would get from feeling someone is reading!

    1. Thanks to you for coming to visit this little corner of the internet! Blogging is a very time consuming task and I think that’s why more and more people are simply posting on Instagram…that also applies to comments…with people reading from their mobile they have been shrinking. So thanks for taking the time. Good luck on your next make
