I can’t believe it’s October already. There are actually loads of nice things happening this month and that includes flicking through a new La Mia Boutique magazine! I am always waiting for that whether it´s good or bad!
The cover already sold me this issue. I love that coat, simple, white and it’s actually by pretty new Italian fashion brand called Paglia Milano, they are actually three sisters. I don’t know about you but I love discovering new designers. And I wish LMB convinced them to give us the pattern for this very cute Mirandola dress
Incredibile sia già arrivato ottobre. In realtà sarà un mese carico di belle cose compreso sfogliare La Mia Boutique. La aspetto sempre che mi piaccia o no.
Solo dalla copertina ho deciso che era un bel numero. Il cappotto mi fa impazzire. E´ di nuove stiliste, sono tre sorelle dietro Paglia Milano. Non so voi ma mi piace scoprire nuovi designer. E spero che La Mia Boutique riesca a convincerle a pubblicare il modello del vestito Mirandola
This combo is also from them. I am less keen about this one. Possibly it’s just the brown. What do you think?

Another outfit from the same designer. The pants are meant to be sewn in a stretch gabardine. The back is intriguing. And I like the shirt pleats. You could even wear in with the oh so popular leggings!
Anche questo completo è delle stesse designer. I pantaloni sono in gabardine elasticizzato. Mi incuriosisce il dietro. E mi piacciono le pieghe della camicia. Potreste persino metterla con i popolarissimi leggins!
I’ll show you the back of this outfit for a change. The shirt is sewn with stretch lace and the skirt is pleated at the front and the back. Though I am not a fan of exposed zippers it’s a cute outfit that could work in many fabrics for a different look.
Vi faccio vedere la parte posteriore per cambiare. La camicia è realizzata con stoffa stretch e la gonna ha delle pieghe anche davanti. Anche se non mi piacciono le lampo a vista, trovo il completo carino e versatile da realizzare con molte stoffe diverse a seconda dei vostri gusti.
If you love loose blouse this one could be for you. One positive thing is that it requires minimal fitting. I actually like the skirt back detail!
Se vi piacciono le camicie ampie questa può far per voi. La cosa positiva è che non dovreste far fatica ad adattarla al vostro corpo. A me piace il dettaglio sul dietro della gonna!
I find this outfit very feminine and perfect for work. Pity the bag partly covers the pants but as you can see from the tech drawing they have front pleat.
Trovo questo completo molto femminile e perfetto per l´ufficio. Peccato la borsa copra i pantaloni ma come vedete dal disegno tecnico ha due pieghe sul davanti.
I like the top part of this dress…I am thinking it could even work as a wrap top omitting the skirt. I am not a fan of balloon skirts but it’s got an interesting side design.
Mi piace la parte superiore del vestito…penso che sarebbe perfetta per uno scaldacuore. Non mi piacciono molto invece le gonne a palloncino ma la piega sul davanti è interessante.
I really like this dress…except for its being an advanced pattern. I don’t quite understand the belt. And you would certainly practice your darts and pleats if making this dress. I don’t know, I was expecting something simpler from that picture.
Questo vestito mi piace…tranne per il fatto che è un modello per esperte. Non capisco bene lo scopo della cinta. E sicuramente se lo cucite farete pratica con pieghe e pince. Non so, mi aspettavo un modello più semplice dalla foto.

Belissima selezione … da solo il cappottino in copertina ne giustificherebbe l’acquisto. Paglia Milano sono decisamente interessanti e da tenere d’occhio anche se quella sorta di culottes sono molto burdeschi …

I modelli non hanno nulla di speciale, anzi sono abbastanza noiosi, scontati. Penso che LMB sia alquanto deludente, come del resto lo è Burda.

Grazie, molto gentile. Conosco Marfy, ha bei modelli. I Miei Cartamodelli – la versione italiana della rivista spagnola Patrones – mi piaceva molto, peccato non sia più venduta in Italia. Probabilmente Vogue, McCall’s e Butterick sono i migliori. Happy sewing!

This is the best issue I’ve seen in ages. Worth if for the shirts and skinny pants alone, although I also love the pleated skirt shown in black.

Your site is fantastic. I too found the Grace Kelly section amazing-first time I bought a Mia Boutique, because the Patrones sizing is better for me, and they used to have great designer patterns. Anyways, would you be able to help me find that fabulous grey fabric with the white “chain”? I have not yet found the place in the magazine where they tell you who made which fabric, but I assumed it was Italian. Thanks.

Are you referring to La Mia Boutique from May 2013? https://sewingprincess.com/sewingprincess/2013/05/la-mia-boutique-052013-review-and-giveaway/
Unlike Burda, La Mia Boutique creates patterns from actual garments. Dress 03 is by Makola (http://www.makola.it/) and I doubt they would sell those fabrics in a store as they are normally just made for the designers. So there’s actually nowhere in the magazine where they list where to get the fabric. I could try dropping Makola an email and see if they get back to me.
I also loved that fabric!
