Like a Diva – Sheath dress

Finally my long overdue Sheath Dress. I actually finished weeks ago but never found time for the photo shoot… you know given my Princess and Diva status is hard to find a spare moment :o) I’m sure the same happens to you too.

The pattern is a self-drafted princess-seam dress. It’s pretty much the same pattern I used for my Ice-cream top (there I added the center gather)

I used matching bias tape to finish the shoulder seam and neckline. And added an invisible zipper on the side.

Do you know you could make this dress using the Pendrell Blouse? You could lenghten the hem to turn it into a skirt length. I would take it in a bit and add a zipper for a more fitted look.

Here is another view. I decided to leave it a bit loose…Do you think I should have taken it in more?

And this is the church that was behind me all the time. I love the simple architecture.

Have a great start of the week…I will be finalising my FESA sew-along list and making pressing templates after seeing this great video on Threads

  1. Love this dress! It fits quite well, in my opinion, but if you think you want it a tad tighter you can always wear it a couple of times, see how it feels, and make that change later if you still think you want a tighter fit. I must also say that I really enjoy how you change the scenery for your photos shoots. Mine are always taken hurriedly in my back yard… photography is not one of my husband’s hobbies!
