It’s all about lace: Buttercup Bag

In two weeks time I am going to a wedding…I couldn’t pass the opportunity for a me-made outfit, could I?

It’s the second time I make a Buttercup Bag. This is the dressy version.

The lace was already featured in the Couture Dress.

And the main fabric is a grey cotton very similar in look and feel to taffeta. You’ll see more of this fabric when I share my finished Colette Crepe I will wear at the wedding.

The lining is a basic sturdy cotton.

Stavolta in versione elegante.

I made a few changes to the pattern instructions: first the pocket is made out of the main fabric. I loved the contrast and I thought it was easier to see.

Since this is an evening bag I omitted the topstitching on the handle and across the top.

What have you been up to this week?

  1. What a beautiful bag, it looks lovely in lace!
Not much stitching has been going on around here, as my parents and sister have been visiting for the last two weeks. Except for a baby blanket for my newest half sibling… 🙂
