Look I made a blouse and it’s white! I seem to have a love affair with white and blouses lately 🙂 and it’s very French too…both the pattern and fabric come from there!

It’s the Blouse Stockholm by Atelier Scammit and the fabric comes from Pretty Mercerie (a fabulous online store…except for those hefty shipping costs…or maybe it’s a good thing 😉

Guardate ho cucito un’altra blusa ed e’ bianca! Sembra proprio che mi sia fissata con il bianco e le bluse ultimamente 🙂 ed e’ anche molto francese…sia il cartamodello che la stoffa vengono da li’!

What I love about this blouse is the clean design and those nice pleats…As I mentioned on Instagram you can use a handy trick to baste them in place and keep them closed.

La cosa che mi piace di più della blusa sono le linee pulite e le pieghe sul polso…come dicevo su Instagram potete usare un trucchetto per tenerle chiuse quando le imbastite.

The only down side about this pattern was getting the sleeves to fit me ok. I had to go two sizes up at the back and one at the front to prevent them from pulling at the raglan size. I looked around a lot to see how it fitted other people and I came to the conclusion that getting rid of that front vertical fold is impossible on a raglan sleeve. I get it even on a very loose fitting top like a La Mia Boutique sweatshirt I made some time ago. One thing is clear there’s a lot of room under my arms as you can see in the cover picture where I’m sporting a Wonder Woman pose 😉 (and yes I did pull the right-hand sleeve too much on the bias and didn’t manage to iron that waviness away)

What’s your favorite blouse pattern?

L’unico lato negativo del cartamodello è stato riuscire a trovare la giusta vestibilità delle maniche. Ho dovuto tracciare due tagli in più per il dietro e una per il davanti per evitare che la manica raglan tirasse. Ho cercato di analizzare bene le bluse realizzate da altre persone e ho concluso che non è possibile eliminare la piega verticale su questo tipo di manica. C’è la piega anche su una maglia molto larga come la felpa de La Mia Boutique che ho realizzato tempo fa. Una cosa è certa… c’e’ molto spazio nel giromanica come vedete dalla foto in alto in posa Wonder Woman 😉 (e sì vedete bene ho tirato un po’ troppo la stoffa in sbieco sulla manica destra e si sono formate delle strane pieghe che non sono riuscita a stirare via)
