A new La Mia Boutique issue is out…it’s all about coats, capes and…Carnival costumes.

I am on the fence about this cape…Certainly from a pattern point of view it’s a nice cut…I really like the collar…but I know it’s not something I would wear.

Ecco il nuovo numero de La Mia Boutique…con cappotti, cappe e vestiti di Carnevale.

Questa cappa non mi convince del tutto…sicuramente da un punto di vista del cartamodello e’ molto bello…il collo mi piace…ma so che non e’ un capo che non metterei.

A classic white shirt…love both the princess seams and the cuffs. I like it that you could play with a contrast fabric inset at the front…lace or plumetis maybe?

Una classica camicia bianca con un bel taglio e fantastici polsini. Lo sprone sul davanti apre la porta a stoffe a contrasto…del pizzo o plumetis forse?

I actually had a very similar red coat a few years ago…I find princess seams always very flattering…so it could be a nice long-term project.

Qualche anno fa avevo un cappotto rosso molto simile a questo…trovo che quel taglio sul davanti e dietro sia molto elegante…potrebbe essere un bel cartamodello da realizzare se cercate qualcosa di piu’ impegnativo.  If you prefer faster makes…these could be for you. If the turtleneck fit is as pictured it would be perfect for my wardrobe. I also like the bias cut skirt…it’s the perfect shape to place with nice prints and lightweight fabrics.

Se preferite cucire progetti veloci…questi potrebbero fare per voi. Se il lupetto e’ attillato come nella foto sarebbe perfetto nel mio guardaroba. Mi piace molto anche la gonna a sbieco…e’ un modello adatto per stoffe fantasia e leggere.I will certainly bookmark this blouse…a keyhole back is always a nice detail I find and those cuffs add some definition to this dartless blouse.

Terro’ presente questa blusa per il futuro…la chiusura a goccia sul retro mi piace sempre molto e quei polsini aggiungono un dettaglio strutturato a questa camicia priva di pinces.

This outfit is from the plus size section. I love the classic skirt with the front pleats. The shirt is another classic…personally I wouldn’t add the pockets.

Questo completo e’ della sezione taglie piu’. Mi piace la gonna con le pieghe davanti e la camicia e’ un classico…anche se eviterei le tasche.

This issue is all about the upcoming Carnival. You can find children and adults patterns. I didn’t include them all but if you enlarge the pattern list below you can see them. I chose to include Morticia…not so much because I will be making a costume but rather because I find it’s one of those you could easily turn into an every day dress. It’s a knit dress…and if you omit the ‘wings’, cut the sleeve straight…you have it. You could even get rid of the godets if you like. This is just to say…that you can get creative!

Sometimes all it takes is looking beyond appearances.

Come vi ho detto questo e’ il numero di Carnevale. Ci sono molti cartamodelli per adulti e bambini. Non li ho inclusi tutti ma se cliccate sulla lista qui sotto potete vederli. Pero’ ho incluso quello di Morticia…non tanto perché penso di farlo ma perché credo sia uno di quelli che si potrebbe facilmente modificare e usare per tutti i giorni. E’ un vestito in maglina e se eliminate le ‘ali, tagliate la manica dritta avrete un vestito. E potreste anche eliminare i godet. Questo per dire…spazio alla creativita’!

A volte e’ solo necessario guardare oltre le apparenze!
