Despite the summer heat and my love/hate relationship with slippery fabrics…I sewed a pink outfit!

Yes, it’s full on pink…a sort of pajama ;o) I have been meaning to make a faux jumpsuit ever since I saw Trine’s version on Instagram I was just afraid about adding an elasticated waist to the top…so I guess it’s more like a matching outfit than a faux jumpsuit. Anyway…

Sì, è tutto rosa…una specie di pigiama ;o) Mi è venuta voglia di cucire una falsa tuta da quando ho visto la versione di Trine su Instagram Ma non ero convinta di aggiungere l’elastico on vita…quindi credo si debba definire completo più che falsa tuta. Comunque…

I was very lucky to be given this vintage silk mix fabric…it belonged to a lady that owned an haberdashery/fabric business. I really like the flower print that also help break out the ‘pinkness’
As I am quite reluctant to fitting new patterns these days…I chose 2 TNT patterns you may recognize…Gathered Polka Dot Blouse: Burda 07/2012 #116  (I just used the longer sleeve variation available on the magazine) and a lengthened pair of Comfy and fast: La Mia Boutique shorts Easy peasy…well sort of…I had to hem the pants 3 times as I had cut the fabric unevenly…as I said love/hate relationship with slippery fabrics.

Sono stata molto fortunata di ricevere in regalo questa stoffa vintage misto seta…era di una signora che aveva una merceria. Mi piace molto la fantasia a fiori che aiuta a spezzare il rosa tinta unita.

I should have probably taken more outfit pictures to show you details…but I wasn’t in the mood and we were on our way out to dinner ;o) So I thought I’d show you some pictures from a recent short summer break in Canale Monterano, 20miles/50 km away from Rome, and surroundings. These are some pictures from a walk I took in the scorching summer heat.

Forse avrei dovuto fare altre foto ai vestiti per farvi vedere i dettagli…ma non avevo molta voglia e stavamo uscendo per cena ;o) Quindi ho pensato di farvi vedere delle foto di un viaggetto recente a Canale Monterano, 50km da Roma, e dintorni. Eccovi quindi le foto di una passeggiata sotto il sole cocente.

As I was walking around…I couldn’t help but take a picture inspired by the sewinginreallife Instagram tag The lighting on my face is not the best nor is the angle…but it’s the only place I could put my phone on…not to mention I look less sweaty than I actually was!

E mentre camminavo non ho resistito a farmi una foto ispirandomi alla tag su Instagram sewinginreallife La luce sul viso non è delle miglioi e neanche l’angolo della foto…ma era l’unico posto disponibile per appoggiare il cellulare…e poi sembro meno sudata che in realtà!

And just when you least expect it…a beautiful sunset…no filter! I wish time off could last longer…

E quando meno te l’aspetti un fantastico tramonto…senza filtri! Magari le vacanze durassero più a lungo…
