New year…new La Mia Boutique issue! The first issue of the month is out until mid-February so despite my being super late… you can still get it if you like.

Well, the cover issue leaves me underwhelmed…reminds me of a Sherlock Holmes outfit. I know Paunnet (she’s back at blogging!) has a totally different opinion…fashion is highly subjective ;o)

Nuovo anno…nuovo numero de La Mia Boutique! Il primo numero è in edicola fino a metà febbraio quindi anche se sono in super ritardo…lo trovate ancora in edicola se volete.

Il modello di copertina mi lascia perplessa…mi ricorda Sherlock Holmes. So che invece Paunnet (è tornata a scrivere sul blog) ha un’opinione completamente diversa… la moda è soggettiva ;o)I find this sweatshirt quite cute…a dressy take on an otherwise very casual garment. I would just check the sleeve and bodice width before making it to avoid it feels too baggy on you. BTW, doesn’t the model remind you of Kate Middleton? 

Trovo questa felpa piuttosto carina…una versione elegante di un capo di solito associato alla moda casual. Controllerei solo la larghezza delle maniche e del corpino prima di avventurarmi a cucirlo per evitare che il risultato sia troppo largo per voi. Non trovate che la modella assomigli a Kate Middleton? 

Speaking of baggy garments…This A-line dress can be rather contemporary or look like a night gown…I feel it depends on the fabric, your style and body type. I love those French darts, sleeves and keyhole opening at the back. If you don’t feel like making a dress I think it would work nicely as a top/tunic too.

Parlando di capi larghi…questo vestito scampanato potrebbe farvi avere un´allure molto contemporanea o sembrare in camicia da notte…credo dipenda dalla stoffa, dal vostro stile e corporatura. Mi piacciono molto le pinces, le maniche e l’apertura a goccia sul retro. Se non volete avventurarvi a cucire il vestito credo sarebbe molto carino anche come blusa.

Let’s not get distracted by the awfully aligned plaid for a moment…I know it may be hard… but let’s try! Cropped pants trende seems to be holding on…I never made any…considering I’m only 5.3 I don’t know if that style would work on me…but if you leave enough fabric at the hem you could always play with it and find the right length for you! Another wide top…it would be an easy make…the only thing I would be concerned about is that it would never stay tucked in all day…it’s too short.

Non facciamoci distrarre dallo scozzese mal allineato per un attimo…lo so è difficile…ma proviamoci! I pantaloni corti continuano ad essere di moda…non ne ho mai cuciti… con il mio 1,60 non sono sicura che questo stile mi andrebbe bene…ma lasciando abbastanza stoffa per l´orlo potreste provare varie misure fino a trovare quella giusta per voi! Poi un altro top ampio… un modello facile…la sola cosa che mi lasciarebbe perplessa è la lunghezza… non rimarrebbe mai infilato nei pantaloni tutta la giornata.

I don’t understand how you could move your arms when wearing such a cape. The fabric choice is too matchy matchy for me. I would be intrigued to see someone making a very cool outfit out of these patterns…sometimes you need a creative take to see things under a new lens.

Non capisco come si possa riuscire a muovere le braccia con una mantella del genere. La stoffa tutta coordinata è un po’ troppo esagerata secondo me. Sarei curiosa se qualcuno creasse qualcosa di davvero originale con questi cartamodelli…a volte basta qualcosa di molto creativo per vedere i modelli sotto una nuova luce.

If you were looking for a simple pattern that allows you to showcase a cool print this is it. I love this fabric!

Se cercavate un cartamodello semplice che consenta di valorizzare una stampa originale, questo fa per voi. Fantastica la stoffa!

Again nothing exceptional about the pattern…just lengthen any turtleneck pattern you have or add a collar to a sleeveless dress and you can make it….but the colorblocking really makes it stand out.

Niente di super originale per questo cartamodello…basta allungare un qualsiasi dolcevita ed è fatta…oppure aggiungere un colletto a un vestito smanicato per ricreare questo cartamodello…ma l´uniode di due colori gli da´ un tocco di originalità.

If you are into cocoon shapes this could be a dress for you. Again great to showcase a nice bold print.

Se vi piacciono i modelli ad anfora questo vestito fa per voi. Un altro esempio di modello adatto a fantasie grandi.
