Sometimes your pattern wishes unexpectedly come true! When that happens you simply have to get that pattern…that’s what happened to me when Alina Design Co. released her Fulton Sweater Blazer. I must admit I had never heard of her patterns before and didn’t know what to expect and whether it would be worth the price. Through the years I became more and more picky with pattern…I just don’t fall for the latest fad and try to find out whether the pattern designer has some qualifications…there are just too many wannabe pattermakers. Eventually, I decided to give it a go…

E quando succede non puoi evitare di comprare il cartamodello… e’ successo esattamente questo con il cartamodello di Alina Design Co., il Fulton Sweater Blazer In realtà non conoscevo i suoi cartamodelli e non sapevo cosa aspettarmi, se valesse la pena acquistarlo. Negli anni sono diventata molto più selettiva con i cartamodelli…non cedo facilmente alle ultime mode e cerco di capire se le persone abbiano delle qualifiche…ci sono troppe modelliste improvvisate. Alla fine, ho deciso di provare…

I was not at all disappointed. The pattern is well drafted and instructions are clear. Fit was good though I did use finished measurements to decide on the size (if I had used body measurements I would have ended up with a looser fit). I only had to shorten the sleeves.
Non sono stata affatto delusa. Il cartamodello è disegnato bene e le istruzioni sono chiare. La vestibilità è buona anche se ho usato le misure del capo finire per decidere la taglia (se avessi usato le misure corporee il capo sarebbe stato più ampio). Ho soltanto accorciato le maniche.

As I had been wanting to make a short ‘Chanel-style’ jacket for a while (you may remember my disappointment with La Maison Victor Naomi Cardi), I shortened the pattern. I have been debating on adding small pockets…I cut them out but never attached them…I might change my mind later.

I was determined to only use up my stash that’s why I went for color-blocking… I didn’t realize it would make a perfectly comfy Christmas outfit…paired with a boat neck tee also from my stash!

Visto che da tempo volevo una giacchina tipo Chanel (forse ricorderete la mia delusione con il La Maison Victor Naomi Cardi), ho accorciato il modello. Sono stata molto indecisa sulle tasche…le ho tagliate ma poi non le ho cucite…potrei cambiare idea.

Volendo assolutamente usare tessuti che avevo…ho creato questa versione bicolor… non mi ero resa conto che stavo realizzando una tenuta natalizia perfetta per un Natale comodo…abbinata alla maglietta a barca realizzata sempre con stoffa che avevo!
