I meant to finish this outfit in November and take part in the #cosycardichallenge I didn’t make it on time :o(  but I still made it so here it is!

Avrei voluto finire questi capi a novembre per partecipare al #cosycardichallenge Non ce l’ho fatta :o(  ma li ho cuciti comunque quindi eccoli qui per voi!

I slightly adapted the cardi pattern from the Knit Boyfriend Cardi I made nearly 5 years ago. Here I simply made a wider the cuff for more contrast. The shell pattern is based on Burda 09/2012 104A turtleneck
Then I added pockets using a fantastic tutorial on De Costuras y Otras Cosas
I also decided to add front ties but I don’t quite like how they turned out…the cardi doesn’t close too nicely. I will either remove them or create new ones using Sara’s cardi tutorial…by the way…

De Costuras y Otras Cosas is definitely a sewing blog to follow if you want to learn about garment construction: very detailed, super professional (she works in the industry) and super kind!

Ho leggermente adattato il cartamodello del cardigan Knit Boyfriend Cardi che avevo cucito quasi 5 anni fa. Qui ho semplicemente creato dei polsini più larghi per avere un maggior contrasto. Il modello di base è il dolcevita Burda 09/2012 104A

Ho poi aggiunto le tasche usando le favolose spiegazioni di De Costuras y Otras Cosas
E ho aggiunto dei laccetti. Purtroppo non sono venuti bene…il cardigan non chiude bene quindi li taglierò o ne farò degli altri usando le spiegazioni del Cardigan in maglia di Sara…a proposito

De Costuras y Otras Cosas è un blog di cucito che vi consiglio vivamente di seguire se volete imparare a costruire capi: le sue spiegazioni sono molto dettagliate, professionali (lavora nel settore) e lei è gentilissima!

The fabric I used is a light merino wool from Supercut. Unfortunately it’s no longer available. It’s been in my stash for over 2 years!

La stoffa usata è una maglina di lana leggera presa da Supercut. Purtroppo non è più disponibile…l’ho comprata più di due anni fa!

The top is also one of my wardrobe staples. I used my trusty shell and mock flat felled all seams. As I didn’t have enough fabric I used one of my favorite fabric-saving tricks of late (from Coudre avec un  metre de tissu)….I cut the sleeve in two parts length-wise…if you look closely you should see a seam at 3/4 length. The neckline is bound using Megan Nielsen’s neckline binding tutorial

La maglietta è realizzata con un altro dei miei cartamodelli base.  Qui ho rifinito tutte le cuciture all’inglese e poi le ho impunturate in costa (come dicono sulle istruzioni de La Mia Boutique!). Non avendo abbastanza stoffa ho usato un trucchetto salva-stoffa che adoro (scoperto su Coudre avec un  metre de tissu)…Ho tagliato la manica in due sezioni in lunghezza. Se guardate bene dovreste riuscire a vedere una cucitura a circa 3/4 della manica. Per rifinire il collo ho usato le spiegazioni di Megan Nielsen.

So in the end it wasn’t a quick project at all…but I’m very happy I made it!

Insomma alla fine non è stato velocissimo da finire…ma sono davvero contenta!
