Let’s start the year with some color!

This La Mia Boutique issue includes some exclusive patterns by Italian designer and blogger Sara Poiese, including the coat on the cover. I have to admit I’m a sucker for tailored garments and this one is no exception. It reminds me of my first coat …I can’t believe that was already 7 years ago! And I still have it and wear it.

Cominciamo l’anno con un po’ di colore! In questo numero ci sono dei modelli esclusivi creati da Sara Poiese che comprendono il cappotto in copertina. I capi di questo tipo mi piacciono moltissimo. Mi ricorda un po’ il mio primo cappotto. Incredibile che siano passati 7 anni da allora! Ancora ce l’ho e lo metto.

This dress is made out of ponte knit.  While I really like the darts and seam lines, I’m not fond of the gathered sleeves. If you’re like me you have two easy options…reduce the gather by shortening the rectangle or omit that pattern piece all together and lenghten the sleeve if you so wish.

Questo vestito è realizzato in punto milano. Le pinces e tagli mi piacciono molto, mentre non sono convinta dell´arricciatura sulle maniche. Se non piace neanche a voi avete due semplici opzioni…ridurre l’arricciatura accorciando il rettangolo o eliminare quel pezzo del cartamodello…e allungare la manica se volete.

I find this blouse extremely cute…especially those sleeve cuffs and covered buttons. I’m not a fan of gathered sleeve heads so if I made it I would have to alter the pattern piece. If you wish to do it, you could reverse this Puff-top sleeve tutorial. It would require a bit of guessing so a muslin would be a must.

Trovo questa blusa molto carina…soprattutto i polsini e i bottoni ricoperti. Non amo le maniche arricciate quindi se decidessi di cucirla modificherei la manica. Se voleste farlo, potreste usare queste spiegazioni al contrario…basta guardare la sezione Puff-top sleeve. Ovviamente sarebbe necessario fare delle prove prima di tagliare la vostra preziosa stoffa.

Both the pleated skirt (without peplum) and short jacket patterns are included in this issue. It could look nice in a different print with boots and dark tights as in the picture.
Sia la gonna a pieghe (senza il peplo) e la giacchina sono comprese. Io userei non userei la stoffa maculata ma sarebbe carina con stivali e collant scuri.

I quite like this coat. As for the pants…I don’t understand the need for those elastic trims pictured in the tech drawing…the front pattern piece includes those cut outs that’s why the pattern is rated as difficult.

Mi piace il cappotto. Invece non capisco la necessità di quegli elastici che si vedono sul disegno tecnico…il davanti è realizzato assemblando 3 diverse sezioni e credo per questo il modello viene classificato ´per esperte´.

While this dress pattern is something similar to older patterns I really love the fabric design…that’s why I’m including it;)

Ho già visto un cartamodello simile in edizioni precedenti…ma mi piaceva la stoffa…per questo ho deciso di includerlo;)

La Mia Boutique follows the current velvet trend with this and other patterns on the issue. I must admit I’m not a fan but I do like this top with its two front darts along the center.

La Mia Boutique segue la moda del velluto con questo e altri modelli in questo numero. Nonostante non mi piaccia molto…trovo il cartamodello bello soprattutto quelle due pinces sul davanti.

To conclude two plus size patterns…the fabric doesn’t do them justice at all I believe. But if you can try and imagine them in a different fabric you could exploit their potential.

E per finire dei cartamodelli taglie forti…la stoffa non gli rende giustizia, trovo. Ma se riuscite ad immaginarli con un´altra stoffa potreste trovarli utili.
This issue also includes a lot of tartan fabric and relevant eyesore for me…most designs were not matched up…you can probably catch a glimpse on La Mia Boutique Facebook page or on the magazine…I just couldn’t bring myself to add them to this post! I hope you understand 😉

In questo numero ci sono anche molti modelli realizzati in tessuto scozzese che mi hanno fatto venire il mal di testa… nella maggioranza dei casi i motivi non erano correttamente allineati…forse riuscite a vederli sulla pagina Facebook de La Mia Boutique… io non riuscivo proprio ad aggiungerli. Spero mi capiate 😉
