I fell in love with Jasper Sweater from Paprika Pattern from the moment it was released….and I kept on postponing my purchase because…you know…I have so many patterns I need to make…eventually I gave in and immediately put it on top of my sewing list!
I don’t usually wear sweatshirts other than when I’m home or when I go to the gym…but Jasper is a more dressy sweatshirt I find…I made it just before Christmas and it’s been getting loads of wear…I’m actually wearing it as I’m typing this post!
I had this ponte knit in my stash…leftover from previous projects…that’s why I got creative with color blocking!
And now some details on the pattern. Looking at the finished measurements I went for a size 2. There’s quite some ease at the waist and the sweater doesn’t really hit the hips…that’s why I could get away with it.
The instructions are very detailed. Next time I would however baste the mid pocket welt…it didn’t turn out perfect. I also serged the sweater throughout…I find it’s nicer even though as the pattern correctly says… it’s not necessary as knit don’t ravel.
I’d love to make another…plus two more as gifts to my mom and sis…by next winter 😉
Have you made any Paprika Patterns yet?
p.s. I made the pants too by rubbing off an existing pair 😉
I love your choice of colors! The sweater looks great – and not casual at all, despite the fabric type. I’ve not tried a paprika pattern to date but they look very interesting – they always look to have unusual seam lines and special details.

Thank you! The unusual seam lines is what I love the most on this pattern.

Beautiful Jasper sweater, it looks really nice in colour block!
I made one for my sister’s birthday last fall, and one for me is also on the to-sew list. 🙂

That’s a great idea! I think it makes a nice top for work too!

I love this pattern on everyone but me. Which is a shame because her patterns look so well drafted. I love your version. Your colour blocking is perfect.

Thanks Evie. Choosing what we feel may suit our bodies is often best to avoid frustrations…recently I tried a loose sweatshirt and I am still not convinced about it…it’s like when I go to the hairdresser and try a new style ;o) Sometimes being conservative is not a bad thing!

I love this pattern! I have 3, one color blocked. I made all of mine tunic length. So cozy and comfy!
The grey touches really bring yours together. Very pretty 🙂

Whoa! I love it when people make a pattern several times! The tunic length is very tempting but I am unsure it would work on my body type. Well done to you!

Bella felpa!
