Remember the Style Arc Kate Dress?
Before cutting into the actual fabric, I thought it would be wise to make a top version to test the fit. The fabric is a leftover from Abilmente Craft Fair.u..very thin and a design I wouldn’t normally wear. So feel free to give your honest opinion on it!

Prima di tagliare la stoffa ho pensuato fosse una buona idea fare una prova del modello in versione top per controllare la vestibilita’. Ho usato della stoffa avanzata da Abilmente…e’ una maglina molto leggera e il disegno non proprio di mio gusto. Quindi ditemi pure onestamente cosa ne pensate!
The size is luckily spot on.
Alla fine la taglia andava bene per fortuna.
While cutting the tie I actually made a mistake. I read Fold and cut the pattern piece on the fold. So I got a belt twice as long…and I couldn’t understand why some people were actually complaining the belt on this pattern is too short and ties at the back! Duh!
So you can see the result if you cut the belt twice as long.
I feel it’s too long. Like my hair…I got it cut in the meantime. Don’t you think?
Mentre tagliavo la cintura ho fatto un errore. Il cartamodello diceva Fold (ripiegatura o piegare) e ho tagliato sulla ripiegatura della stoffa. Quindi la lunghezza e’ il doppio del previsto…e poi non capivo perche’ alcune persone dicessero che la cintura di questho modello e’ troppo corta e si chiude sulla schiena. Che scema! Be’ almeno vedete il risultato se raddoppiate la lunghezza.
Secondo me e’ troppo lunga, no? Come i miei capelli…che ho tagliato nel frattempo.

I don’t remember you using this color before (pinkish purple?), but I think it looks great on you. Good for you making a muslin before the real thing, that long tie might not have looked too good in a thicker fabric. But the top is lovely, the ties don’t look bulky even though they’re so long, I hope you’ll wear this 🙂

Geo, you are right…it’s a color I don’t use. that’s probably why it feels weird…or it’s the print! Indeed the thin fabric makes the long ties more manageable. I have been wearing it a few times already.

Knit wrap tops are absolutely necessary in a girls wardrobe! They are almost like t-shirts but look more elegant and dressed up!

Beh se questa è stata la prova per il tuo vestito incrociato – poteva anche avere una stampa con gnomi da giardino – ne è totalmente valsa la pena farlo… Il vestito e stupendo…. e questa prova assolutamente indossabile, anzi 🙂

La stoffa e’ un po’ retro’…ti lascio indovinare la provenienza! Forse e’ un altro caso in cui dalle foto non sembra male… Sono stata fortunata con la taglia devo dire la verita’. Ho solo stretto le maniche con margine di un centimetro

Per me ti è venuto veramente carino e anche se magari il colore non è dei tuoi preferiti, lo considero un capo mettibilissimo sia durante il giorno che per uscite notturne! I tuoi capelli son bellissimi e son sicura che se anche li hai tagliati nel frattempo, stai benissimo uguale!

Diciamo che sei stata un po’ troppo ipercritica?! Trovo il top bellissimo, la fantasia é molto carina e direi che ti illumina e forse dovresti riconsiderare il colore come uno che dona al tuo incarnato 🙂 per i wrap la cintura lunga ci sta, evita fastidiose aperture, forse nell’errore hai azzeccato anche questo. Se dovessi dare un voto il mio sarebbe 10! Ed ora via, voglio vedere il vestito!! Un bacio, giusy

Pues Silvia creo que te queda estupendamente. A mi es que me gustan mucho los jerséis y vestidos cruzados, son mi debilidad. Y el lazo doblemente largo, pues no queda nada mal, como alguien ha dicho, no hace bulto. Estás muy guapa (incluido tu pelo).

I love this top on you — the colors are so good and the print is attractive (and I’m not a print person!). I like the longer ties, especially if they aren’t too bulky. I was going to comment that your hair looks great, but it must look even better now that you cut it to a length you like!

It’s a cute pattern and looks great on you! I’m a bit undecided about the fabric, I think the colour scheme is very pretty on you but the print looks a bit weird… kind of like psychedelic snake skin? Might look fun with black leather trousers. 😉
