As much as I like tailored garments…I also love being comfy. And these two are great for that: Aime Comme Marche à Suivre pants and Aime Comme Material Girl top. I was just lucky they both fit straight from the envelope in a size S…There was no time to make a muslin.

Nonostante mi piacciano i capi elaborati…adoro anche star comoda. E questi due cartamodelli cadono nella seconda categoria: pantaloni Aime Comme Marche à Suivre e maglia Aime Comme Material Girl. Sono stata fortunata che la taglia S mi andasse bene…non c’e´ stato tempo per fare le prove.

Aime Comme Material Girl is a knit top that comes in two variations. I chose the long-sleeved version…and in a second you´ll know why. (See a gathered sleeve version)  As you can tell the top is slightly flared. I made it with Leger Comme Une Plume jersey knit…this fabric is fabulous. I though it was impossible to find such a cotton jersey…other than in RTW. So you can imagine my excitement when Marie sent me some to try. It´s very soft, not too heavy and not too thin either. It just behaves so nicely…which is very useful when setting the neck band! I am very happy to report it turned out perfect! (picture me doing the happy dance here!)

Aime Comme Material Girl deve essere cucito in maglina e contiene due cartamodelli. Ho scelto la versione a maniche lunghe…e tra un attimo vi farò vedere perché. (Potete vedere la versione con maniche arricciate Come vedete il top è leggermente svasato. Ho usato la maglina Leger Comme Une Plume… Questa stoffa è favolosa. Pensavo non fosse possibile trovare della maglina di cotone come questa e fosse un tessuto solo disponibile per capi pronti. Immaginerete la mia euforia quando Marie me ne ha mandata da provare. è morbidissima, non troppo pesante né troppo leggera. E non e´ affatto scivolosa…davvero comodo quando si deve cucire il colletto. Sono molto contenta che sia venuto perfetto (immaginatemi mentre saltello tutta contenta!)

Just as you may think Aime Comme Material Girl is quite plain…have a look at the back! It´s meant to be finished with woven bias binding but I didn’t have any that would go well with that color so I simply finished the seams with an elastic stitch.

Proprio quando pensate che Aime Comme Material Girl è piuttosto normale…guardate il dietro! E´ fatto per essere rifinito con dello sbieco ma non ne avevo di adatto quindi ho semplicemente usato un punto elastico.

And since we are talking comfy here are Aime Comme Marche à Suivre pants, another two-in-one pattern.

What I liked about this pattern is that the legs are slimmer than in other elastic-waist pants patterns I tried and they are low-waisted too! So I am really looking forward to turning this into my favorite comfy pants pattern! Just have a look at the possibilities: viscose, beach version or Liberty

Quello che mi è piaciuto di questo cartamodello è che la gamba è più stretta rispetto ad altri pantaloni con elastico in vita che ho provato…e sono anche a vita bassa! Quindi non vedo l’ora di farne degli altri! Gardate quante possibilità ci sono: viscosa, versione vacanze o Liberty.

La stoffa che ho usato è Ma rivière de diamants, un altro disegno di Marie.
