You should know I am not much into sparkly items…but I couldn’t resist the trend. It’s all over in France and Italy.

Dovreste sapere che non sono un’amante degli oggetti luccicosi…ma non ho resistito alla moda. E’ dappertutto in Francia e in Italia.  The most popular version of this canvas shopper bag (as far as I know) is by Vanessa Bruno. And I certainly couldn’t justify spending a whopping 120 euros (150 USD, 95 GBP) for a canvas tote. I agree we have to pay for the original idea and all…but 40% of that would have been my upper limit!

La versione più conosciuta di questa borsa è (per quanto ne sappia io) quella di Vanessa Bruno. E di certo non potevo giustificare la spesa di 120 euro per una borsa di tessuto. Sono d´accordo a pagare per l´idea originale e il resto…ma il 40% di quel prezzo sarebbe stato il massimo per me!

All the supplies, except for the sequin trim, come from my stash. That denim fabric was a mistaken online purchase…too heavy for garments but perfect for a bag. I didn’t even need any interfacing. And I used three layers at the bottom for extra sturdiness (the tutorial calls for burlap). I omitted the closure as I was afraid it would add too much weight.

Avevo già tutti i materiali a casa tranne le pailletes. Quella stoffa di jeans è stato un errore: avevo comprato la stoffa online ma si è rivelata troppo pesante per degli abiti. Però è perfetta per una borsa. Non c’è stato neanche bisogno di aggiungere della teletta. Ne ho usati tre strati sul fondo per maggiore stabilità (nel tutorial dicono di usare della juta). Ho evitato di aggiungere la chiusura perché temevo aggiungesse troppo peso sulla stoffa.

All it all it was a fairly simple project. Only sewing the bottom corners tested my patience.
Wouldn’t it be a perfect present?

E’ stata una borsa facile da realizzare. Anche se la mia pazienza è stata messa alla prova quando ho dovuto cucire il fondo.
Non sarebbe perfetta per un regalo?
