I am still jet-legged but eager to share my excitement with you! I’m just back from a road-trip to Canada (no driving on the ocean though!). Some of you already got a sneak peek on my Instagram feed

Though visiting Canada and its gorgeous scenery was the original reason for the trip…the moment the plan was made bloggers meet-up were on my mind…and sewing supplies.

Sto ancora riprendendomi dalla differenza di fuso orario ma non vedevo l’ora di condividere con voi le mie emozioni! Sono appena tornata da un viaggio in macchina in Canada (senza guidare sull´oceano pero’!) Alcuni di voi hanno già visto qualche immagine su Instagram

Anche se il motivo originale del viaggio era visitare il Canada e il suo meraviglioso paesaggio… appena concretizzati i piani ho cominciato a pensare ad incontrare altre blogger e ad acquisti di cucito. 

Toronto’s CN Tower is nothing compared to the thrill of a long-awaited meeting with Andrea from Stitch Parade and touring the city with her and her Mr. We were so busy chatting away over those days that this is the only half-proper picture we took and it was accidental. Meeting her felt so natural, walking around in the city, grabbing a coffee or going for brunch with her was like meeting an old friend. I am (not-so) secretly hoping she will come to see our mountains and lake sometime soon!

La Torre CN di Toronto non ha nulla a che vedere con l’eccitamento in vista del tanto atteso incontro con Andrea di Stitch Parade  e visitare la città con lei e suo marito. Eravamo talmente impegnate a chiacchierare in quei giorni che questa è l’unica foto semi-decente che abbiamo scattato ed è stata fatta per puro caso. Incontrarla è stato così naturale, passeggiare con lei per le strade della città, bere un caffé o fare un brunch è stato come incontrare una vecchia amica. Segretamente (ma neanche troppo) spero che in futuro verrà a vedere le nostre montagne e laghi!

Then it was time to head to the Canadian Rockies (the intro video is just an Hyperlapse snapshot of what you saw when driving around). The colors of Moraine Lake were exhilarating.

Poi è arrivata l’ora di andare sulle Rockies (il video introduttivo è solo una veloce carrellata con Hyperlapse che da un’idea di quello che si vede dalla macchina). I colori del Lago Moraine erano mozzafiato. 

On the other hand, I was annoyed to see Lake Louise under the rain especially since we could have gone there the day before while the sun was shining! It was one of those dumb moments I won´t easily forget!

Invece ho provato un’estremo disappunto a vedere il Lago Louise sotto la pioggia soprattutto perché bastava andarci il giorno prima e ci sarebbe stato il sole! E´ stato uno di quei momenti di idiozia che non dimenticherò!

And then there was walking on thin air on the Glacier Skywalk, a cliff-edge walkway that leads to a platform where glass is all that separates you from a 918 foot (279 meters) drop.

E poi abbiamo camminato sospesi nell’aria sul Glacier Skywalk, una piattaforma di vetro sospesa nel vuoto a 279 metri.
This video gives you a rough feeling of what it felt like…let me tell you I was firmly grasping the handrail while shooting!

Questo video vi da solo una vaga idea di quello che si provava…mentre lo giravo mi sono dovuta tenere saldamente attaccata al corrimano!

More adrenaline-pumping experiences in Vancouver. Riding a bike along the Seawall made me feel like a local and was a great way to see Stanley Park and the ocean views.

E ancora esperienze adrenaliniche a Vancouver. Un giro in bicicletta sul Seawall, un percorso di 10 km che costeggia Stanley Park mi ha fatto sentire una di casa ed e´ stato un modo fantastico di vedere il parco e l’oceano.

And my trip wouldn’t have been complete without another exciting blogger meet-up: Tasia from Sewaholic and Sue from A Colourful Canvas were so kind to meet me on a Saturday for coffee and sewing chat. I have been following Tasia’s blog since 2010, followed her when she launched her pattern line tailored for pear-shaped women and I couldn’t miss an opportunity to meet her and stock up on my Sewaholic favorite patterns!

I discovered Sue’s blog not so long ago and was immediately drawn in by her glowing smile, her curly hair and fantastic use of fun prints. Her blog makes me very happy!

You can imagine Sue’s and my excitement when Tasia invited us to visit her sewing studio to see where the magic happens and let us try on her pattern samples. I felt like a kid in a candy store!

E il viaggio non sarebbe stato completo senza un altro incontro tra blogger: Tasia di Sewaholic e Sue di A Colourful Canvas sono state davvero carine ad incontrarmi un sabato per un caffe´ e una chiacchierata di cucito. Seguo il blog di Tasia dal 2010 e l´ho ´accompagnata´ quando a lanciato la sua linea di cartamodelli per donne con fisico a pera e non potevo perdermi l´occasione di conoscerla e far scorta dei cartamodelli Sewaholic!

Ho scoperto il blog di Sue non da molto e mi è subito piaciuto per il suo sorriso smagliante, i suoi capelli ricci e il suo modo di combinare stoffe colorate. Il suo blog mi rende davvero felice!

Non potete immaginare quanto fossimo eccitate quando Tasia ci ha invitato a visitare il suo atelier di cucito per vedere dove nascono le sue creazioni e ci ha lasciato provare i suoi modelli. Mi sono sentita come un bambino in un negozio di caramelle!

It’s been a fantastic vacation and I will cherish these moments for a long time.

E’ stata una bellissima vacanza che rimarrà nei miei ricordi per tanto tempo.
