I did it! I made a bra!!! It’s Ohhh Lulu Jasmine Bra.

Given it’s my first bra ever, I am very happy with the result. It’s fully lined. And it fits! Pattern matching should have been better but I didn’t have much fabric left.

As someone who dislikes underwire bras (tell me I am not the only one, please!) this is a really nice pattern.

Considerando che e’ il mio primo reggiseno sono contenta del risultato. E’ completamente foderato e la misura e’ giusta! Avrei dovuto allineare il disegno meglio ma non avevo abbastanza stoffa.

Visto che non mi piacciono i reggisenti con il ferretto (ditemi che non sono la sola!) questo modello e’ davvero carino.

To make things easier, I bought ready made straps.

When assembling the bra, I had two issues or actually three 😉

1. I was accidentally given bra closure extensions instead of a back closure. So I had to cut the joining elastic and do with that. PAY ATTENTION NEXT TIME.

2. I didn’t buy strap elastic so I used the same picot elastic as elsewhere. This is not a good option. I will change that with ribbon.

3. The only plush band elastic I could find was 1 inch wide instead of 1/2 inch. And someone didn’t increase the seam allowance accordingly. It still fits fine luckily but will have to adjust the pattern next time.

I used a size S mainly due to my ribcage. Funny enough when I first tried on the finished bra there was some gaping at the underarm which had disappeared after wearing it again…mysteries.

I really liked the pattern and instructions overall except for the strap elastic being sewn at the end. So the finish is not as neat as I would like. Next time I will sew it one before adding the picot elastic.

I think I will make another bra soon!

Per rendere le cose piu’ semplici ho comprato delle bretelline gia’ fatte.

Mentre cucivo il reggiseno ho avuto solo due problemi o meglio tre 😉

1. Per sbaglio mi hanno dato delle prolunghe per reggiseno invece che delle chiusure. Quindi ho dovuto tagliare l’elastico che univa le due parti e usarle cosi’. FARE ATTENZIONE LA PROSSIMA VOLTA.

2. Non ho comprato l’elastico per le spalline quindi per fare gli anelli delle bretelle ho usato lo stesso elastico del bordo. Non e’ stat una buona scelta. Lo sostituiro’ con del nastro.

3. Sono riuscita a trovare solo dell’elastico da mettere in fondo da 2,5 cm e avrei avuto bisogno di uno alto la meta’…e qualcuno non ha aumentanto i margini di cucitura. Per fortuna mi va bene lo stesso ma devo ricordarmi di farlo la prossima volta. 

Ho usato la taglia Small per le dimensioni della mia gabbia toracica. Una cosa divertente e’ che quando ho provato il reggiseno finito sembrava che il giro manica fosse troppo largo. Quando l’ho indossato di nuovo il problema era sparito…mistero!

Mi e’ piaciuto molto sia il modello che le istruzioni tranne per il fatto che gli anelli per le bretelle vengono cuciti alla fine. Quindi non rimangono troppo rifiniti. La prossima volta li cuciro’ prima di aggiungere l’elastico intorno.

Credo proprio che cuciro’ un altro reggiseno molto presto!
