Right in time for spring the petals on my new shirt are in bloom!
Not many really!
- I made a size 36 instead of 38 as I was worried the blouse would be too loose (there are no darts,)
- I moved the shoulder seam for the usual forward shoulder
- I used flat-felled seams all over for a professional finish
- I made self cover buttons all over
The instructions (in French) on the pattern are not super detailed. But in all fairness the only two difficult parts are well explained with drawings, e.g. how to assemble the collar and button placket. So if you like the shirt, go ahead and buy this pattern! It’s lovely and you can even make a sleeveless summer version
And you know, you can ask me if you have question 😉
If you notice some pulling on my rounded back you´re seeing correctly. I didn’t bother making the adjustment though I should have! How many times will I repeat this? I even made a muslin
The fabric is a light poplin and feels very soft on the skin. It’s certainly worth the premium price. I can’t wait to see the upcoming Atelier Brunette next month!
Have a great week!
Buona settimana!
Wow, what a lovely blouse! I can barely see the pulling. You were correct to not make the adjustment. 🙂

That collar is so much fun. This shirt is a little too classical/formal/professional looking to be of any use for me, but it does look great. The fabric is really nice and the covered buttons are the finishing touch.

Absolutely gorgeous! And know what? Cosmic blue is my favourite Atelier Brunette fabric 🙂 I like so much how you look in shirts! And this one looks amazing on you. It would looks as good with a skirt as with a pair of jeans or smart trousers. The collar makes the shirt look unforgettable! Please, make us more shirts 🙂

What a fun collar! And I love the detailing on the front placket too! It’s these kinds of details that really take an attractive shirt up several notches to one of a kind couture. And to do all those self covered buttons…genius!

What a pretty blouse! The collar looks very interesting, very fitting for spring like the shape of flower petals. 🙂 And I really like your self-covered buttons.

Looks great, Silvia. The fabric is lovely and the neckline super cute. Was it very time consuming to put together?
