Pack your suitcase: we are going to Rome! At least for a few minutes ;0)
I love traveling and I love it when I get to virtually travel thanks to the pictures on your blogs. So today I am showing you one of the best places in Rome for a breathtaking view of the Eternal City: all pics were taken on the Gianicolo Hill. Unfortunately it’s not on all tourist tracks…which is a pity because it’s really fantastic.
Fate le valigie: andiamo a Roma! Almeno per qualche minuto ;o)
Adoro viaggiare e adoro quando fate vedere le foto dei posti in cui abitate. Cosi’ oggi vi porto in uno dei punti in cui si gode di una meravigliosa di Roma: il Gianicolo! Purtroppo non sono molti i turisti che ci vanno…un peccato perche’ e’ davvero fantastico!
Posing on pictures is not easy for me…so my answer is always: try to have fun on a photoshoot…like here where I am practicing my princess salute to the Pope…clearly I have a long way to go before I do it as elegantly as Kate!
Non sono molto brava a posare nelle foto…la mia soluzione e’ quindi cercare di divertirmi quando faccio le foto…come qui quando faccio il mio saluto princepesco al Papa…chiaramente ho ancora molto da imparare prima di diventare come Kate!
Well, New Look 6000 is probably one of the most popular pattern on the web (read the feedback on Pattern Review. I have been wanting to make it since I first saw it on Lower your presser foot back in July 2011…2 and half years later is not bad, eh?
Questo modello New Look 6000 ha avuto molto successo tra le blogger (potete leggere le recensioni su Pattern Review). E l’ho voluto fare da quando l’ho visto sul blog Lower your presser foot a luglio 2011…be’ mi ci sono voluti solo due anni e mezzo…non male, eh?
The fabric is a Ponte knit I bought in 2013. It’s a great fabric to work with. Super stable!
I am especially proud of my self-cover buttons! I am addicted to them now! I got them on Etsy
Pattern adjustments:
- I used a size 8 (2 sizes down from my measurements), that allowed me to make minimal adjustments!
- Forward shoulder adjustment
- Took in the sleeves by 1 inch…why do they make them so huge?
- Got rid of the zipper and the back vent!
- I did not interface the collar nor the cuffs. I was on the fence after reading Kristy’s concern. But in the end I think it was a good choice. They don’t look floppy in the end.
La stoffa e’ un punto milano comprata nel 2013. E’ fantastica da cucire, nonostante sia elasticizzata e’ molto stabile.
E sono felicissima dei miei bottoni ricoperti! Ormai sono una fan. Li ho comprati su Etsy da una venditrice italiana.
Modifiche al modello:
- Ho usato la taglia 8 (2 taglie in meno rispetto alle indicazioni) e grazie a questo trucco le modifiche sono state minime
- Modifica per la spalla curva
- Ho stretto le maniche di 2,5 cm…non capisco perche’ le facciano cosi’ larghe.
- Ho eliminato la lampo e lo spacco
- Non ho stabilizzato il colletto ne’ i polsini. Dopo aver letto il post di Kristy avevo qualche dubbio ma alla fine non ci sono stati problemi. Sono rimasti piuttosto ‘rigidi’
And now for some travel advice: if you want to go to Gianicolo hill and park…unless you have a car, the most straightforward way for me is walking. It’s a really nice walk. There are buses and all, but they are not all that frequent. Tripadvisor has plenty of info on it
E adesso qualche informazione turistica: se volete salire al Gianicolo e non avete una macchina…il modo migliore di arrivarci e’ a piedi. La passeggiata e’ molto suggestiva. In teoria potete arrivarci in autobus ma passano di rado. Qui potete trovare maggiori informazioni Passeggiata del Gianicolo
That flag you see in the distance is Quirinale Palace, the Italian ‘White house’ and the dome is St. Andrea della Valle Basilica…if I am not mistaken.
La bandiera che vedere in fondo e’ il Quirinale (guardate il video per sentirvi come se foste li’) e la cupola Sant’Andrea della Valle…se non erro.
I am really happy I now have a red dress…I haven’t had one in years!

Red is definitely your colour, you look fabulous! NL 6000 is such a great pattern I’m still wearing mine all these years later and wondering what colour to make another one in (hmmm maybe red now I’ve seen your gorgeous version)

Stunning! I absolutely love how this turned out Silvia. The colour is perfect as is the fit. Also, I love the fact that with no zipper and a stretchy fabric, you can just slip it over your head without trying to reach back to zip it up – genius. Did you make a muslin in a similar weight fabric or did you just “wing it”? It really looks fantastic.
