Knit Boyfriend Cardi

DSC_0866

On these pictures I am as stiff as a board! Don’t know what got into me!

The pictures don’t do the fabric nor the pattern any justice. But they were actually the best from the whole photoshoot!

I found a very nice silk or viscose jersey for a fiver over a year ago…and finally managed to make one of the zillion projects on my Pinterest boards.

Knit Boyfriend Cardi tutorial by iCandy

Clearly her project is much better photographed than mine. That’s why I am including it here.

I used my trusty Burda 09/2012 104A knit shell and then followed the instructions on the iCandy tutorial for all the bands Just made the sleeves longer.

It’s really a great wardrobe builder and perfect for layering. I wish I could find such nice fabric more often.

What pattern has been the longest on your sewing list?

  1. I was hopeful that this was to be the Miette reveal! But this is a very lovely substitute. The sort of pattern you want one in every colour. Very elegant!

  2. I’m impressed…I’ve never been brave enough to try magic loop. I use double pointed needles for sleeves in the round. I’m happy with them as I use them for socks too.
Buona fortuna! (I think that’s what I’m trying to say!)

  3. Your cardigan looks really great, such a useful shape and colour. I can see this becoming a real wardrobe staple, that you reach for time and time again, and goes with everything 🙂

  4. Very nice cardi Silvia! I must confess that one of the patterns that has been on my list the longest is the Paco draped top I won on your giveaway… hopefully it gets done before the end of the year!

  5. Wauw, great cardi! It looks great, and the color is great for combining! I’m looking at cardi-patterns too, but can’t really find anything to my liking!

  6. Oh, very nice! I’ve had that pattern on my to-sew list for quite a while. And it fits you very nicely, too! I really like the look of the front band in that pattern…
I’m a big fan of magic loop knitting, I do all my socks and mittens that way. 😀 Possibly because I tend to lose my free DPN when I knit in the round with multiple DPNs… *shrug*
