It’s summer…it’s getting hot…and it’s time for a giveaway!
I made an overnight trip to Spain for work last week and I was really excited when I managed to snatch a copy of Patrones 137 magazine. This number includes beautiful dresses and some easy projects…
Then this weekend I discovered a new (to me) fabric shop and found this 100% Italian cotton (nearly gauze) in a beautiful green and mauve shade.
I got the last piece they had…it’s 140 cm (56 inches) width by 122cm (48 inches) length. Enough for a sleeveless maxi dress or a couple of tops or a dress with short sleeves.
Here is the full list of patterns from Patrones…I already have a few favorites!

Sono stata in Spagna per lavoro la scorsa settimana e sono stata davvero contenta di trovare una copia della rivista Patrones 137. Nel numero ci sono dei bellissimi vestiti e qualche modello facile.
Poi questo fine settimana ho scoperto un fantastico negozio di stoffe (Al Telaio, Luvinate (Varese) dove ho trovato questa stoffa di cotone leggero in una tonalita’ verde e violetta.
Questo era l’ultimo taglio disponibile che misura 140 x 122 cm. Quindi abbastanza grande per un vestito lungo senza maniche, un paio di top o anche un vestito a maniche corte.
Qui di seguito trovate la lista dei modelli inclusi nella rivista Patrones…ne ho gia’ adocchiato qualcuno!
One thing I discovered is that Patrones has only three European sizes, 40-44-48. So if you are in between you have to trace the patterns by drawing the cutting lines between the smaller and bigger sizes. For sure it should me making tracing less of an issue as you don’t have to try to identify your size between a zillion sizes.
Ho scoperto che la rivista Patrones ha modelli in sole 3 taglie, 40-44-48….quindi se le vostre misure sono nelle taglie intermedie dovrete semplicemente disegnare le linee tra la taglia piu’ grande e la piu’ piccola. Certamente dovrebbe essere piu’ semplice trovare la linea corrispondente visto che non ci sono migliaia di linee per le diverse taglie.

Ooh! I only have one issue of Patrones (still thinking of subscribing but haven’t plunged yet) so far. I can’t seem to make the images blow up but that 4th dress – the lovely pink maxi is just beautiful and would look wonderful with the fabric! Thank you very much for the giveaway.

El vestido con pliegues me ha encantado, además pone que es de “fácil” realización. El problema que suelo tener con Patrones, es que yo soy de una de esas tallas intermedias y suele dar más trabajo trazar el patrón pero sino son muy fáciles de realizar.

What a wonderful giveaway! Patrones isn’t availabe “off the shelf” here in the UK so this would be a real treat. For me, the fabric would have to be a dress. It’s so pretty.

e la stoffa? la vedrei per una una blusa leggera annodata al collo!

I have not had the luck of sewing with the Patrones magazine but their patterns are so fresh and modern, I would love to.
I would make a dress with that fabric.

I’d make a shirtsleeved shirt with buttons down the front with the gauzy fabric. Those patterns look so summery compared to the winters weather here at the moment!

Oh wow – what a fantastic giveaway – thanks so much! If I was lucky enough to win I would definitely make a floaty maxi dress with that lovely fabric. And I really love the look of the white dress (no. 32) so would love to have a closer look at the bodice details to see if I could make it!
